Ondeh Ondeh!

So, feeling nostalgic, so I'll be making Ondeh Ondeh either tonight or tomorrow.

Bought all the ingredients, except for Gula Melaka, so I'll substitute it with dark brown sugar. Also, I'm using Pandan leaves extract instead of the leaves.

Anyway, was watching this video from a Singapore family preparing Ondeh Ondeh for Mother's Day at Salvation Army.

Snow Skin Mooncake

A few days ago, I made Snow Skin Mooncake with Sweet Red Bean Paste, this is what I did. Recipe good for 4 pieces. I bought the mold from ebay for about US$10.

There Is A Day...

What a wonderful worship song.

Lyrics:

There is a day
That all creation's waiting for
A day of freedom and liberation for the earth
And on that day
The Lord will come to meet His bride
And when we see Him
In an instant we'll be changed

The trumpet sounds
And the dead will then be raised
By His power
Never to perish again
Once only flesh
Now clothed with immortality
Death has now been
Swallowed up in victory

Chorus:
We will meet Him in the air
And then we will be like Him
For we will see Him as He is
Oh yeah
Then all hurt and pain will cease
And we'll be with Him forever
And in His glory we will live
Oh yeah, Oh yeah

So lift your eyes
To the things as yet unseen
That will remain now
For all eternity
Though trouble's hard
It's only momentary
And it's acheiving
Our future glory

A cover by Brian Wahl - 10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord) (Matt Redman)

truly 10,000 reasons!

[Chorus]
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

The sun comes up, it's a new day dawning
It's time to sing Your song again
Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me
Let me be singing when the evening comes

[Chorus]
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

You're rich in love, and You're slow to anger
Your name is great, and Your heart is kind
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find

[Chorus]
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

And on that day when my strength is failing
The end draws near and my time has come
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending
Ten thousand years and then forevermore

[Chorus x2]
Bless the Lord, O my soul
O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name

Jesus, I'll worship Your holy name
Lord, I'll worship Your holy name

Sing like never before
O my soul
I'll worship Your holy name
Jesus, I'll worship Your holy name
I'll worship Your holy name

I Will Rise

"Now will I arise," says the LORD. "Now will I be exalted; now will I be lifted up. - Isa 33:10

but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. - Isa 40:31

Chris Tomlin on the piano, listen to him on Worship Together - http://www.worshiptogether.com/songs/songdetail.aspx?iid=1008616

There's a peace I've come to know
Though my heart and flesh may fail
There's an anchor for my soul
I can say "It is well"

Pre-Chorus:
Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

Chorus:
And I will rise when He calls my name
No more sorrow, no more pain
I will rise on eagles' wings
Before my God fall on my knees
And rise
I will rise

There's a day that's drawing near
When this darkness breaks to light
And the shadows disappear
And my faith shall be my eyes

Bridge:
And I hear the voice of many angels sing,
"Worthy is the Lamb"
And I hear the cry of every longing heart,
"Worthy is the Lamb"

Winter Break - Flagstaff & Sedona [Dec 27-29, 2011]

Our Winter break from Dec 27 to Dec 29, 2011. We spent time at Snowbowl, Flagstaff and did a bit of skiing.

But I thought the best time we had was driving over to Sedona and was surprised to see that even in Winter the scenery was absolutely beautiful.

We drove along Highway 89A, a little winding with snow on both sides as well as the imposing Red Rock Mountains and the Slide Rock Park along the way.

Also, being my wife's birthday, we celebrated with her at lunch at 4300ft at Uptown area at a restaurant "Open Range Grill & Tavern" overlooking the Red Rock Mountains.

It was fabulous. Our original plan was to ski and return to Scottsdale, but my son suggested spending some time in Sedona and... we definitely enjoyed it. Thanks Son!

And this wonderful video was produced by my wife! :-)
